Biona Organic Rye Bread Hemp Seed packed with the wholegrain goodness
This bread is made for Biona by a family-owned bakery in Muensterland, Germany. Established in 1927, the bakery uses traditional artisan skills-freshly grinding the grains just before baking to create loaves packed with the wholegrain goodness needed as part of a healthy diet. Hemp seeds are rich in protein and are rich in essential fatty acids.

Ingredients:  Organic Wholegrain Rye Meal, Water, Organic Natural Sourdough (Organic Wholegrain Rye Meal, Water), Organic Hemp Seeds(6%), Sea Salt. Food, Beverages & Tobacco > Food Items > Bakery > Breads & Buns

Like many items that FWF sell, I buy this Rye Bread all the time. I like the added Hemp Seeds, because not only do you get added protein, but you also get a nice crunch, when you eat it. Rye Bread can be an acquired taste, but I really like it and have it toased most days. I much prefer this bread to white and wholemeal versions. One thing I have found though is; I can often go to get the bread out of a cupboard and despite storing it how it states to, the bread has gone mouldy - even in unopened packs. Looking at reviews over the internet, this is a common problem with the brand. I choose to take the risk, but I don't bulk buy this bread now, for this reason.

Having switched to rye bread many months ago, where I am trying to live a more 'whole food' and organic lifestyle, I wouldn't look back. I love the flavour of this particular rye bread compared to other brands. Additionally, with the added hemp seeds in this particular item, you get a super hit of protein, which keeps you feeling fuller, for much longer. I think Biona are a great company, which offers many organic, healthier foods. The reason for not giving this a 5 star review is because, I have found this bread goes mouldy really quickly. I store it correctly and have ensured it was within date, along with the original packaging it arrives in, still being fully sealed. So, I really don't know why this happens. I can't blame FWF, because I have bought this bread from Amazon before and had the same experience. Apparently, it is something may other reviewers have experienced too. Therefore, while I would highly recommend this bread, I would suggest not buying more than one or two items at a time. I wouldn't recommend bulk buying, because you will run the risk of it becoming mouldy, even if you follow the storage advice etc.
