The name Kamut is actually a trademarked description of khorosan wheat. It has been controlled in this way because it is such a unique ancient variety of wheat. It can only bear the Kamut name if it strictly meets the requirements of this special grain.
For a product to be labeled as Organic Kamut, it must come from ancient Khorasan wheat without any modern breeding. It also needs to be certified organic and at least 99% free from contamination by modern wheat varieties. Additionally, it must have a protein content ranging between 12% and 18%, ensuring its nutritional quality meets strict standards.
