Organic Green Tea Sencha Loose Leaf is mellow and refreshing
Our organic and Fairtrade Chinese Sencha Green tea is produced in the 31 hectare Yin Quan Tea Garden, in Jiangxi province. Jiangxi, is a province located in southeast China surrounded by rice paddies, rivers and mountains and famous for its porcelain and high quality tea.
The tea garden has been organic since 2009, and subsequently gained its Fairtrade certification. They meticulously plan the tea growing ensuring that they get the best quality from the leaf. The flavour is exceptional, in part due to the research and development undertaken at the estate to refine the leaf and processing. The volcanic soil also contributes to the end flavour profile of the leaf. The leaves of Sencha are steamed and then rolled flat, giving them their characteristic shape.
Green tea is hailed to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet that could have many potential health benefits. It contains polyphenols and in particular catechin which is an antioxidant compound.
