Organic Whole Allspice has a sweet, warm aroma
Organic whole allspice is a single spice made from the dried berries of the allspice tree, also known as Pimenta dioica. This tree is native to Jamaica where it is known as Jamaica Pepper.
The flavour is a delicious combination of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and pepper. Once ground the berries can loose their potency which is why we stock them in whole form. Depending on your recipe you can grind them into powder when you need to use them.
Allspice is very versatile so can be used in a huge range of dishes including, soups, baking, Jamaican jerk dishes and stews.
