Organic Blanched Almonds - 500g Reviews

Organic Blanched Almonds are a source of vitamin E.
Organic Blanched Almonds are a creamy white colour and are perfect used in baking or as a simple snack.  The almond is technically a seed grown in a deciduous tree.  This tree grows easily in Europe but is native to the Middle East, India and Africa.

Blanched almonds have been heat treated with water to remove the skin which reveals the white flesh of the seed.  Organic blanched almonds are a great source of nutrition and are lovely used in baking or simply snacked on.

Almonds can be blended with water (1 part almonds to 2 parts water) and then strained to make homemade organic almond milk.  If you want to use them as a flour you can either grind them yourselves or for a finer result try our organic blanched almond flour.

If you prefer the skin intact try our organic unblanched almonds or enjoy them as part of a mix in our organic trail mix.

These nuts are great for making your own healthy almond milk, with no need to take the time to blanch. I often soak nuts first in cold water (from as little as 1/2 hour, to overnight), which helps to plump them up a little, or just use them dry if in a hurry. For easy/super quick plant-based milk, I add a small handful of rinsed blanched almonds to a blender jug full of cold water (filtered if you have any), and just blitz in a high-powered blender (*I use a Vitamix) for about a minute. Then you have lovely instant plant milk, without any of the additives of store-bought plant milk, and at a fraction of the cost. You can keep it simple, or adjust to your taste by adding a little sea salt & vanilla essence, a touch of maple syrup (or your chosen natural sweetener) and a pinch of cinnamon, or add cacao powder and some stoned dates etc. for yummy chocolate milk. *If you don't have a high-speed blender, just use a regular blender and a nut bag (or clean muslin cloth etc.) to strain off any remaining sediment. Don't throw leftover strainings away, they're very nutritious and can be used in a smoothie or added to other recipes such as bread, cakes, muffins, sauces/gravy etc. Your homemade plant milk should keep for up to about 3-4 days in the fridge.
