Organic White Quinoa - 1kg Reviews

Organic White Quinoa is a seed that works like a grain.
Organic White Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is softer and more absorbent than red or black quinoa varieties.  Organic quinoa is a source of protein so is a popular choice with vegans and vegetarians.  It contains all the essential amino acids needed for human nutrition.

Quinoa is a 'pseudo-grain' which means that although we use it as a grain it is actually a seed.   This means it is higher in nutrients and protein than most grains.  Cooked quinoa is a source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Copper and Manganese (per 90g serving).

Our organic quinoa hails from Bolivia and is grown in the Andean Mountains where it has been a staple food for thousands of years. It works well in a wide range of sweet and savoury recipes.

We also stock organic red quinoa and organic black quinoa.  If you want to try all three then choose our organic tricolor quinoa.

It cooks up much softer and lighter than the red or black varieties, which makes it perfect for stirring into little ones' meals or using as a healthy substitute for rice. Buying the 1kg bulk bag is so much cheaper than buying those microwave pouches from the supermarket. Just remember to give it a really good rinse in a fine sieve before boiling to get rid of the bitter taste, and it turns out perfectly fluffy every time.
