Organic Black Quinoa makes vibrant side salads.
Organic Black Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) has a nutty texture and is similar to organic red quinoa in texture so makes for vibrant salads and side dishes.  Organic black quinoa is a source of protein so is a popular choice with vegans and vegetarians.  It contains all the essential amino acids needed for human nutrition.

This variety can take a little longer to cook than organic white quinoa and organic red quinoa and holds its shape more so goes particularly well in salads or mixed grain dishes.

Quinoa is a ‘pseudo-grain’ which means that although we use it as a grain it is actually a seed.   This means it is higher in nutrients and protein than most grains.  Quinoa is high in Manganese and a source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper (per 120g serving).

Our quinoa hails from Peru and is grown in the Andean Mountains where it has been a staple food for thousands of years. It works well in a wide range of sweet and savoury recipes.

You may also like to try our organic tricolor quinoa, organic red quinoa or organic white quinoa.
