“I had an idea of what to expect. I have a Bosch mitering wood saw that I put a Diablo blade on for cutting aluminum. It cut aluminum like butter and the angle cuts were super convenient. Too fast for steel though. This saw cuts steel like butter, and I haven't lost the mitering capability. Where the S14MCS beats my Bosch setup is in clamping capability and structural rigidity. Several times, my Bosch set up has flung a part across the shop. The S14MCS clamps so well, that is no longer a concern. Not only does it clamp securely, but is quick and easy to implement. Let's be real. If it isn't easy to use, it is easily bypassed. The capacity of this saw is also impressive. These saws are not cheap, but that buy once, cry once adage applies here. The flexibility and safety of this saw makes it well worth it. Another benefit is being able to work with the cut material immediately, due to not being hot after the cut. Also, the cuts are very clean and require minimal deburring. A huge time saver. Money well spent!”

“the S14MCS is a fantastic machine. cuts through DOM tubing like butter, and holds an angle cut with precision unlike an abrasive saw. the only downside is the amount of metal shavings it gives off. so its wise to invest in a magnetic sweeper and a shop vac with a crevice attachment. i use a block of bees wax bought from Hobby Lobby to help preserve the blade before each cut.”

“I have many Evolution tools. I own the basic chop saw and their mag drill. When I received the miter chop saw I had bought it for a specific job anticipating that it would make the job and my life easier. Within 11 cuts the blade failed and lost teeth and then I noticed the fences weren't square either. Furthermore, the table saw stand for the new miter chop saw had the worst finish I have ever received on a project in my life. I honestly would be embarrassed to give this to one of my personal customers. I contacted the customer support and received adequate acknowledgement and they sent me a new blade asap. The saw genuinely works way above the chop saw I bought from EVO previously, but for the $$$$ the initial impression is lacking greatly.I give it 3 out of 5 stars at best because you should never have to fix a customers problem to begin with and I have a feeling they know their manufacturing in China or Taiwan let them down and they are hoping they can make up for it with good customer service. Spoken from an industrial designer who knows manufacturing. Cheers.”
