good tool overall , multi cut blade a bit jack of all trades , splinters a lot when cutting wood , but overall pretty good , will buy specalist wood blade at a later date.

This is basically a cheap mitre saw in all respects. I bought it to replace a 10 year old identical model that saw me through a barn conversion with only a few issues along the way. In the intervening time I can see that quality has suffered and this model is now no better than any other cheap chinese saw except the fact that it has a 255 blade and corresponding longer and deeper cut at 45 degrees. If you don't need to cut deep timber at 45 deg then just buy any of the other brands for cheaper. The cut angle accuracy isn't good. At 90 degrees the cut is about 1 degree out and requires setting with an angle tool to get proper accuracy. At 45 degrees compund mitre it is really out and requires setting each time it is moved. The blade start up time is very slow so that you have to wait a moment before starting the cut or els you get serious tear out at the slow speed. Basically, you get what you pay for so don't expect Makita quality at this price.

All around a well balanced, comfortable to use, and effortless cutting. The laser guide is very useful as well. It can cut through many more things than wood thanks to the TCT blade. Works well.
