This wasn’t the first Evolution tool I’ve bought so, from experience, I knew the build quality would be good and that it would provide great value for money. I opted for this particular model following some research on good old YouTube and, although it's early days, I’m impressed by the design and versatility Evolution have put into it. So far I’ve cut skirting boards, marine ply and chipboard and each time with great results. As an experiment I took some off-cuts of 10mm laminated backboard I'd used in updating my kitchen and, without even taping the area, I made half a dozen cuts and each one was absolutely fine. Although I found setting up the laser (again courtesy of a YouTube guide) quite fiddly, once sorted it’s proved to be very accurate and definitely a bonus. I haven’t cut any metal yet, but have no reason to doubt it’s ability, especially with the ‘amazing’ blade supplied with the saw. I reckon if you check the blade alignment and set up the laser, you won’t go far wrong with this great bit of kit. One last thing. At the same time I bought the saw I also bought the stand and it’s well worth the money. It folds away when not in use and, once the saw is mounted on the quick release arms, it takes moments to fit. Well done Evolution!
