“ALL normal dog tags suffer with erosion of rubbing surfaces where the securing split ring passes through the dog tag material. These heavy duty dog tags have a steel protective covering where the split rings pass through, this material is a similar hardness to the split rings pass ring and so minimises wear to either component there...it won't wear through and lose the dog tag.”
