“This weighted tape is perfect for dialing in paddle feel without using lead. It sticks securely and forms clean smooth edges that do not peel even after long play sessions. The weight distribution is subtle but effective and makes a noticeable difference in power and control.
I added a small amount around the edge and my drives felt stronger without losing touch. Removing and repositioning is simple and leaves no sticky residue behind. A smart option for customizing your paddle especially if you do not want lead anywhere near your gear.
Highly recommended for all skill levels who want a personalized paddle feel.”
“First thing I'll talk about are the pros and cons of tungsten versus lead tape. Of course the biggest one is any kind of health risk that lead tape might represent. My guess is that it's fairly minimal, but in my mind when there's tungsten tape available it makes more sense. It is a little bit more expensive, but the difference is pretty negligible especially when you get a nice big roll like this one.
If you don't use edge guard tape, lead tape may offer a little bit more of a finished look, as it is little thicker, and does not show any blemishes from what you put it over.
Tungsten tape, and particularly this kind, is a little bit more like electric tape in that if there are blemishes under what you're putting it on they will show through a bit.
I tried to capture this in the first picture. My paddle edge has lots of old gummy residue on it from previous edge guards, and you can see it a little bit when you apply tungsten tape. However, as you can see in the second picture, when you put edge guard tape over it it is much less evident than lead tape, since the lead tape is much thicker.
Also, if you wanted to decrease the toxicity of the lead tape, that's pretty much of a non-issue if you do put edge guard over it. Even in that case, as I say, tungsten tape looks better to me.
When it comes to this particular product, my feeling is that it's very good. You can cut it off at an exact weight, as it has a little scale on the bag itself, so you don't even need to use a ruler. There are lots of YouTube videos that talk about the different benefits of putting the tape on different parts of your paddle. I tend to go for a little more power by putting mine at 3:00 9:00 and high noon. This tape sticks perfectly well, and because it is thin you can even round off the edges or do other things as it's easy to cut precisely. The weight seems about right, and all in all I'm very happy with this product!”
“As a pickleball player myself, weight is a must have on my pickleball paddle nowadays. I wanted something that would not be toxic and tungsten fit the bill compared to lead tape most people use.
This tape by Eleven Zero does the job perfectly with weighing my paddle up. I like that they included a weight placement guide as well with a ruler on the packaging which is a nice touch.
The install of the tape to my paddle was easy with just a removal of the plastic backing. The tape itself is sticky enough it’ll stay on your paddle edge-guard without falling off.
The durability is there when placed on but removal over time is incredibly difficult to the point it snaps the weight off (that is to say I wouldn’t recommend re-using the tape on another paddle once installed).
Besides that, the tungsten tape for the price is a great value when comparing to other tungsten tapes at the price, but when compared to lead tape, the value for the money is not all there, but for myself, limiting my exposure to lead was enough to justify the higher price point.”
“Ive had no issues with this tungsten tape it came at the weight that it was designated it was easy to cut and it was easy to apply. The most important thing to me is that the tape stays on the edge guard of the paddle and this definiteiy did that. The weight was also pretty accurate per an inch as i weighed it on my small food scale afterwards. I think it definitely helps putting weight on most paddles so i recommend checking it out. For the price its fair and in line with other tungsten tape on the market. I cant speak for quality too much as i cant tell if tungsten is different from others but to my eye the quality of the glue is top tier which makes this an excellent choice.”
“This is an excellent choice to protect and add wight to your pickleball paddle, golf club and tennis rackets. You won't be disappointed.
The product shipped and delivered super fast, High quality tungsten tape that easy to apply and blends in well. It really balance the paddle exactly how I want and helped carry more speed and power, Great value/ size and length making it convenient to fine-tune my paddle. Also can be used under grip for counter weighting.”
“This is some really nice quality tungsten tape for adding weight to your pickleball paddles. It is 1 gram per inch which I find perfect for paddles. The adhesive is good 3M adhesive that holds strong. Cutting it is simple with scissors and it applies easily to the outer edge of the paddle. You get a lot for the price versus pre-cut strips. This is a great price for a quality tungsten tape.”
“This tungsten tape is functional and does provide the specified weight per inch. It is highly flexible and reasonably thin for 1gram/inch tape. However, I found it to be poor cosmetically. The thickness of the tape is very uneven. It arrived very wavy which I thought would not be a problem once applied. But the tape has a very wavy uneven surface even after applying it to my paddle. I have this covered up with some slick edge tape and this wavy finish just looks unappealing. If you don't care about the look then this may not be that big of a deal. I also wiped the tape clean after installation to prep it for the edge tape and it left a lot of black residue on the towel.”
