I originally bought the 5.1 speaker package with the AV-150BT at a silly £289, but having acquired a top end sound card for my PC i decided to upgrade to a higher powered 5.1 amplifier as my PC is the media hub in this household. Delivery as promised during the Xmas period was somewhat unexpected and the AV-340BT amp is the best value for money I've come across in years. Just one problem with it, those hideous blue lights. Please use a pale green, and less brilliance. The speaker system can't quite handle the amplifiers full power. It starts to distort on the satellite speakers at around 85%, which really is not a problem; in a 35x20 ft room 50% power is perfectly adequate. Just remember to use high quality speaker cable; cheap cable wont deliver a good signal at higher power levels. The amp settings have been set to neutral, so it is really working as a simple power amp with everything being controlled from the PC's software. The front left and right speakers don't really need the sub, either, but it's hooked up because many Blue Ray movies make greater use of it. The next step up from this rig is a Dali Oberon 5.1 Speaker package (£1650) with a Yamaha RXV4A (£439) to power them. And to be honest, my ageing ears can't detect enough of a difference in audio quality to justify the extra £1600+. Well done Fenton, and thank you Electro-Market for a fault free process.
