“I ordered the boxed version of this, thinking (incorrectly) that I would receive the upgrade on a disk. It turned out to be a card with a code, and no instructions other that to log on to my account and follow instructions. The process was incredibly complicated and not user friendly - I was upgrading from Sibelius 3. In the end it took over two hours of my friend's time (and he is a professional computer tech) and a lengthy phone call, to get the install/upgrade to work. I'm sure Sibelius 8 will be as good as Sibelius 3, but there must be an easier way to get and install an upgrade. in retrospect, I wonder if purchasing a download might have been easier. Stars for ease of installation- nil Stars for content - 5 Average - 2”

“A very impressive upgrade to this software, earlier versions of which I have used over many years. I am at present probably only aware of a small proportion of what it is capable but I am learning slowly through usage rather than studying guides, etc. One irritation is the amount of time it takes for Sibelius to load the sounds for each score that you have on-screen. If the score is a large orchestral score, it can take several minutes. Re-configuring note spacing (under "appearance") does not always seem to remove all cases where lyrics or notes collide with each other on-screen.”
