“I bought this lens to replace the same model that unfortunately got damaged when the camera fell off its holster. As a lens, I've always been happy with it. 'Professional' reviews say its 'soft' at either end of the zoom range and I can see that, but it's not bad enough at my amateur level to be a concern - I still get enough sharpness to be satisfied. In the middle it's pin-sharp and really fast. I've not used the 'new' one yet, except for a few test shots to confirm it works. If you can see the image I uploaded, it's F7.1, 1/160, ISO-100, 10mm zoom, handheld.”
