“Having had an X-E4 for 3 years, I was very excited at the announcement of the X-E5 with its larger sensor and IBIS, and of course, the new Film Simulator dial. I placed my order with Carmarthen Cameras when the X-E5 then and when it arrived mid August, I was not disappointed. It feels very much the same size as the X-E4 (yes it _is_ bigger but in normal use it doesn’t feel it). I’m comfortable using it with just a PD Cuff wrist strap without any additional grip, whereas I used to have a JJC grip/baseplate with my X-E4. The Film Simulation dial is very useful and so is the reappearance of the MSC autofocus switch. I find the new control lever on the front provides an easy way to access essential camera functions (I’ve set mine to select digital zoom/ DOF preview / histogram with the long presses set to electronic level and face detect). The new XF23mm f/2.8 is a great lens which together with the X-E5 makes an inconspicuous camera for street photography. Overall, a powerhouse APSC mirrorless camera in a really attractive and neat package.”
