“Purchased one of these reels and used it on a 11 ft. rod for surf fishing. Using 50 lb braided line it does an excellent job of casting the 6 ounces of weight the rod is rated for and nicely cranks in the fish. Smooth drag and great magnetic anti-backlash control. I liked it so much I wanted another to put on a heavier 12 ft rod to cast up to 10 ounces of weight. So far I've used it to cast 8 oz and it works really well.”
