“I bought this as a direct replacement for my original worn guard on my 2016 Fender American Elite Jazz V bass. The quality of sheet material was excellent and fit to neck and pickup were absolutely spot on. The fit to the control plate needed trimming which was easy enough and not noticeable afterwards. Luckily there was excess.First I tried loosening the control plate screws to jiggle a good fit but no joy. 5 of the screw holes in the guard didn't quite line up with my existing screws, they were approx 1mm out but a quick pilot dig with a small flat headed screw driver to widen the start of the holes in the body did the trick without need to spoil the circular hole in the guard. Looks perfect with these adjustments with fixing screws seated nicely in the
countersunk guard holes ( to the naked eye). In my experience it is not uncommon to have to adjust a replacement guard slightly so this review is intended as a helpful heads up to folks unused to this. My bass now looks stunning again !”
