Great to allow small birds to feed at will without intimidation from larger birds eg starlings, jackdaws etc. My only niggle is the top falls off very easily. The fix was to bend the wire ends up with a pair of pliers. Poor design but easily fixed.

Feeder was ideal for our needs, which was to deter larger birds from eating most of bird food put out & allowed smaller birds to be able to feed in peace.

My earlier squirrel proof feeder stopped the squirrels and big birds but not the starlings. I was OK about that until I started using a mix. The starlings were only interested in some bits, and so rifled through it, leaving the wastage to be gathered by pigeons below - up to a dozen eventually. The feed was empty in a couple of hours. This feeder has stopped that problem allowing the tits to feed freely - and the finches are getting used to it too. I have fat balls for the starlings. A full feeder lasts the best part of two days usually.

Keeps larger birds off to allow smaller birds to feed. Reduces waste.

Wanted to protect the feeds for the little birds from the voracious Starlings. Had a feeder with a protective cage from RSPB which did keep the Starlings out but the mesh size was a bit small for the Robins so I thought I would give this item a try after reading so many great reviews on it. And it certainly works really well in keeping the Starlings out and allowing the Robins in. Very happy with the purchase.

I've got some very happy blue tits and great tits (I feed peanut granules through a seed feeder). And some extremely annoyed starlings - they can't get in. I like starlings, but I didn't like that they could clear out any and every feeder within an hour. The Guardian feeder is expensive but will have paid for itself within a month!
