“My Janoel incubator arrived super quick and works perfectly. It is an awesome unit. Being fully automatic with temp and humidity alarms it is great for a beginner.”
“The turners are long trays I presume you are supposed to lie the eggs flat. The instruction book tells you to load them pointy end down. So I tried this but you need exactly the right amount of perfectly sized eggs to make this work. So I presume the instructions are for the turners that have the individual cups.
So I don't know what to think of the turner, the eggs just roll from side to side but don't turn. My eggs all started dying early (blood rings) and I didn't know if this was due to incorrect turning. I started to panic and any that were still alive I put in my 24 egg incubator with the separate upright cups. As I already had a dozen eggs in it I could only transfer 12. I started with 4 dozen eggs that I imported from the eastern states, cost me $260 in total. Big mistake trying out a new incubator on expensive eggs. I ran it for 3 days before putting any eggs in, temperature when checked with an independent gauge seemed correct. I ended up moving more eggs into my parrot brooder that I know does a good job until none were left. In total I lost half of my eggs.
However further research indicates it may be a freight issue as the air sacs seemed ruptured. I did not recognise this at first as I have only just bought a decent egg Candler.
I am going to use it for hatching only as I really don't trust the turner.”
