Alright, these things are amazing! I've had these for almost a year now and have used them on vacations. My girlfriend wore her shoes, same as these, when we hiked to Hanakapi'ai Falls in Kauai. That's an 8 mile round trip hike over slippery rocks, mud, and crossing a river. These shoes were perfect! She had more grip than I did with trail running shoes and definitely more comfort because these things have the most comfortable sole ever. Super soft. When we crossed the river, four times, instead of dangerously trying to find a path over rocks to stay dry she just walked through the water like it wasn't no thang..because it wasn't! It was safer and waaay easier. These shoes drain immediately. I felt stupid for not wearing mine. She had absolutely no issues whatsoever...I couldn't believe it. Had to write a review for these things.

First, this is an absolutely lousy all purpose water shoe for Texas beaches. It actually does really well in the water under controlled conditions, but you will get lit on fire when hot beach sand permeates up through the vents on the soles. Another issue those vent holes present are being too numerous to provide real protection from potential beach hazards like sea glass, old treble hooks, jagged shells, jellyfish, etc.If you drive to the beach and can park close enough to wet sand, plan little activity (I.E. sunbathing only), then no worries. Same thing with the lake or backyard pool. Since I walk back and forth to beach over long stretches of white sand and then play / swim with my family, this shoe is not an option. In fact, I was luckily rescued by my next door neighbor who noticed I was sprinting down the dunes like a cat on a hot tin roof and yelled at me to jump on her golf cart. She then drove back home and I swapped out shoes. The reason I gave this shoe 5-stars and think so highly of it is quality construction, light weight and breathability. After realizing they weren’t going to work as beach shoes, it dawned on my the Aleader shoes have the potential to make them an ideal Texas men’s house slipper. The biggest problem with traditional house slippers here in the south is most of them are lined with material that make your feet constantly sweat, even in the winter. This means they are uncomfortable, then start to stink rather quickly while being non washable. The Aleader is a vented water shoe, which breathes and my feat don’t get uncomfortable. As soon as I get home, I kick off my outdoor shoes and then slip on the Aleader. Some folks like Crocs for inside shoes, but I just don’t like the way they navigate over hidden house hazards like legos or marbles...which will make you start to speak in tongues if you happen to go barefoot over one of these type of toys. The Aleader has no issues. The Aleader is actually as comfortable as going barefoot, does not mar floors, can handle wet mopping, chemicals cleaners and appears extremely durable. In fact, I like them so much that I’ve picked up extra pairs for each of our homes.

Order a size smaller, the other reviews saying to small is nothing close to what I experienced.
