“Hi. I bought this side table to make two, as I have had other chairs and tables from you which have been aok. As this item is quite small, I assembled it on a kitchen worktop, as that was easier than working on the floor. When I placed the central web plate which holds the 4 legs together from the box onto the absolutely flat marble worktop, the central web plate see-sawed. On pressing one end down, the other end of the plate bounced up off the worktop. A view of this warped central plate is shown in photo 1. When the 4 legs were bolted on to it, 2 legs were higher than the opposing 2. When placed against the underside of the aluminium table top to attach the 4 legs onto that, naturally 2 legs met the cast lugs to bolt into, and 2 legs were left clear (photo 2). I was not prepared to force the 2 other legs onto their bolting points, as this would have induced severe stress across the central web plate and the table top, as they would fight against each other as the bolts were done up. I therefore sourced some large washers and introduced several of them between 2 of the legs and the table top (photo 3) and compensated for this by adding washers to the adjustable feet at the bottom of the other 2 legs (photo 4). The table then finally sat level on the floor, with a level table top, and with the warped central web plate at an angle across the middle, but at least unstressed. Not something one should have to struggle with! I do realise that I could have returned it prior to assembling, but I could not face the re-packing that would have involved. I just thought you might want to know as (i) it has clouded my view of the company's products and (ii) if the foundry you are using is producing warped castings, it is something that perhaps may need checking on, as I can't believe a casting would bend as much as this one was. Just my experience of my most recent Lazy Susan purchase - hope it is of help.”
