Booked in brake check as making a grinding noise. I selected 10am slot on Sunday at the Widnes branch, so I turned up at 10 when they opened along with 10 others who has the same slot booked. National called me at 2pm to say car needed £360 worth of work, but which can't be do done until the next day as they dont have parts. The following day they said the LOCKING nut had snapped and I was asked to take the car to a garage who specialises in removing locking nuts and bring it back. I picked the car up and took it to a garage I usually use who agreed to fit me in, glad I did as the work icluuding the brakes cost me two thirds less than what I was quoted my these rip off merchants. Avoid this chain as they will quote you for work that does not need doing.

Been trying to get a issue rectified for several months and can't get a reply. They broke my locking wheel nut key and are ignoring me after spending over £800. I've left a review from the date of the incident but they're ignoring that and all other ways I've tried to contact them.

Fitted back tyres when they were supposed to fit front tyres and still did the front wheel alignment, although this is doubtful given the way the car drives. Allowed car to be driven away with illegal front tyres. When contacted to complain they told said the front tyres were legal and showed no remorse and no intention to work to address the problem. Have no ability to pay for new front tyres now, nor are they legal to drive. Disgusted.

Staff polite and with no issues. My beef is the price I paid for an exhaust. I didn't have time to shop around and paid £535 for a Nissan Note exhaust fitting, not including front section. I later got a quote from a local garage for £125. I have used National tyres once, but that will be the last time, I will make sure i shop around in future. Ps I looked at parts on Euro Parts and feel i have been over charged.

Booked through Tyre shopper / national tyres owned by Halfords a Mobile fitter came out to fit two new front tyres and damaged locking wheel nuts and also snapped off tyre pressure sensor and replaced with standard rubber valve with no sensor , car is now telling you sensor undetected every time you start the car and showing a dashboard alarm which is now an MOT failure under new rules and have spent an hour being passed from one number to another saying i have the wrong department to complain , never again !.

Booked car into Falkirk branch for repair on Monday 27/02/2023. Work delayed due to staff shortage (sickness). Was told car would be 1st job next morning. Called them at 3pm (they had not called me) was told delay due to supplier sending wrong part so new part needed to be ordered. Collected car Tuesday 5.30pm. Front Inner track rods and outer track rod ends both sides and shock absorber front driver side plus wheel alignment. Was told to come back in a few days to get tracking tweaked as might be a bit off. Following day noticed damage to newly refurbed alloy and steering wheel was more than slightly off. Thursday returned to garage – manager accepted responsibility for damage to alloy and agreement reached to make good. Wheel alignment re-done. Friday evening – son was driving car and steering felt off. Checked passenger side and found inner track rod end not longer attached to the steering rack. AA called attempted a repair - unable to do roadside repair as wheel nuts on passenger side had been overtightened. AA recovered vehicle to Falkirk. AA have confirmed that had the car been being driven on motorway when the track rod came away from steering rack result could have been catastrophic and possibly fatal. Complaint raised and escalated to regional manager. We asked for car to be taken from Falkirk to Audi in Stirling for safety check – compromised and agreed Regional Manager would take car to Halfords in Stirling. This was done on Tuesday 7th March and car returned with a verbal assurance it was road safe. Also offered a full refund, was advised this would take up to 10 days and customer services would be in touch. Several calls and emails later and still no refund as of 23/03/2023. National/Halford consider complaint closed.

National Tyres Greenock Inverclyde Been harrased with emails to leave a review for these jokers. Bought two new tyres everything was fine. The week later I booked an appointment for front wheel alignment and entered a voucher number bringing the price down to £19.99. They next day we took the afternoon off work and took the car into the Greenock shop and were told they were running behind a little. No problem. They took the keys and said someone would phone. A couple of hours went past and we received a one ringer phone call from their shops number. When I called back they stated they were unable to do the job as the strut bolts were siezed closed and required the acetylene torch to loosen them. They went on to explain they wouldn't have any gas for the torch until next week. So they were unable to do the job. We took our car around the corner to Dellinburn tyres who immediately put the car on the ramp. Setup the lasers and got the big spanner into the strut bolts. Within five minutes these boys had done the job (tracking/wheel alignment) and that was including the time the mechanic took to take the car a test drive.. National tyres totally wasted our time simply because they could not be bothered. I'm guessing they had more expensive jobs to do that day and were only getting 20 quid for out job so fobbed us off with a measily excuse.

I think halfords need to be very careful because clowns like this will destroy your good reputation

Firstly the guy who worked at the reception area at the Dunfermline branch was rather rude, it was clear that customers were just an inconvenience to him. When I told him I had a puncture and would need a new tyre, he said, leave it with me, when asked what the price would be, he quoted me £25 more than what was advertised online. When I queried this (politely I may add) he became aggressive, raising his voice stating something along the lines of web prices always being cheaper. When I said I wasn’t interested, he followed me to my car ranting the whole time. I can see why a lot of female drivers avoid these places.

Took my car for m.o.t. to NATIONAL TYRES AND AUTOCARE Having failed my m.o.t I got a quote for repairs - the cost for parts was £202-55. They are now owned by HALFORDS, and my mot says Halfords Autocentres. I checked Halfords on line price and it was £69-97. I also checked Europarts (whom I am led to believe they get their parts from) Europarts price was £109-98. I pointed this out to them, but wasn,t offered amended price. I didn,t feel the part they failed was bad, so went to another garage for mot and it was passed. I won't be going anywhere near National Tyres or Halfords any more, and will be making my friends etc. aware of my experience. I informed Halfords Autocentres on-line, but am afraid they didn,t/couldn,t explain why this was,in fact, they evaded the question entirely, this was the answer I got :- Please provide a screenshot or copy of the competitor quotation, please also stick to the price match guidelines or we cannot assist you further.

Terrible terrible service. In short they screwed up my order. I requested a refund. Heard absolutely nothing. Called customer services - got cut off and went straight to their survey that they are so intent on your taking at the end of the call, so I wasn't helped. Called again eventually got through to someone and was confirmed that my refund had been processed a few minutes again by the person I spoke to first. If I hadn't called in I would be waiting for a refund that was never going to arrive back onto my credit card. Check your refunds!

I booked in a time slot for 1 o’clock to have 2 tyres and tracking done. I turned up about 10 minutes early and car was still sitting there 1 and a half hours later. I can’t see the point of having time slots if you have to wait this long. I moaned to one of the blokes there and he said they were busy but all I could see was the blokes just standing there messing about with loud music blasting or they were outside smoking using there mobile phones. An old gentleman I was talking to in the waiting room said he was booked in at 2 o’clock and his car was finished within an hour. Not once did anyone have the decency to apologise for the wait. I would never use this branch again it’s a shame I can’t give zero feedback if so I would. This made me late going back to work. I think the time slots need to be reviewed and removed if this is what happens.

Had my appointment for 10am, came on time and the guy asked me to wait around 40/45 minutes. After one hour and a half my car was still in the car park, no one touched it yet. Awful service, very unsatisfied considering I booked trought Halford and I paid in advance and my appointment has been moved twice.

Rang up in morning and booked car in for suspension check at 4:30 pm. When I turned up they had no recollection of my booking and were too busy. There is no excuse for poor service like this.
