“I myself do not read magazine but it is sent to my granddaughter. Although she is 11 and has had magazine for several years she enjoys it and is keen to continue.”
“We love getting Eco Kids through the door, both my 5yr old and 10yr old love reading it. Great variety of articles, pictures, puzzles and activities.”
“HIgh quality images and writing; very interesting content, even for the adults, yet written in a very accessible way to keep the little ones interested. Varied content from week to week, and varying styes of writing, e.g. one of the articles is always written in a conversational/interview type format, which is fun to read out loud together. Great little arts and crafts projects too!”
“My child loves the magazines! She particularly likes the comic strip in there each month and even my younger child enjoys looking at the amazing images.”
“My granddaughter loves this magazine and we often revisited them especially around her bed time when she doesn’t want to read a book. . She did however comment that she always struggles to get them out of the paper envelope when they arrive, as they are often glued to the inside of the envelope, which removes some of the back page - which can is upsetting. Can you consider a recycled envelope similar to the one the WHICH company uses?”
“My niece loves receiving this every month. She particularly enjoys the stories about the fox. It has helped her in learning to read as well. She’s been getting the magazine for nearly 3 years now. She loves them.”
“My 10 year old granddaughter loves this magazine. She immediately unwraps and reads as soon as it arrives. Every copy is carefully stored and re-read. She often tells me facts learned from the magazine.”
“We have been getting Eco Kids for a couple of years and it's been great to see my daughter move from looking at pictures and listening to reading it independently. She loves the focused issues and the ability to learn lots of details about one animal or area. The puzzle section really encourages her comprehension in a fun, subtle way and she loves to take part in the competition challenges and make new creations. As a parent it has been a great way to involve her in literacy practice in the house as if we are reading magazines she doesn't feel left out and is genuinely learning important facts and engaging in the importance of looking after the environment.
Her learning from the magazine has often prompted further interest for example, wanting to visit places where she can see the animals she reads about.”
“My son (11) loves Eco Kids magazine. He looks forward to it arriving each month and we spend quality time reading it together. He's home schooled so if something sparks his interest then we do do more research on that topic. I can highly recommend this colourful and fun learning resource.”
