Very pleased with my purchase of this extra-long fat ball feeder. I now get such an array of birds: wild green parakeets, starlings, a woodpecker, blue tits, and a robin. The length means smaller birds feel more confident about using it since they won't be overcrowded by larger birds approaching. I was using a smaller feeder all spring and summer but never had any robins. Now I have a robin turning up regularly. Mr Robin couldn't grip the previous feeder and is much more at ease with the construction of this metal feeder. It seems all the birds are much happier with a longer feeder. Its open mesh makes it easy for all birds to cling or perch, depending on their preference. Plus, you do not need to constantly refill which is a great bonus, as you can go on holiday knowing your birds will be fed while you are away. They like the continuity of constant food so this is important to me. I don't like to disappoint them. I'm purchasing the long seed feeder as I am very taken with the extra length.
