“The people at GFL are very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, but are let down by the technology around them. The site itself takes an age to load the homepage (from an IT perspective, it seems to be waiting for some sort of timeout before finally displaying.) The frame selection only allows filtering by one criteria at a time (i can't filter for all black, rectangular, frames in the £100-£150 price range, for example.) Of the frames on the site, not all are available in the colours shown, which I got bitten by, multiple times, in my "Try at Home" attempts. The "Try at Home" service is very good however, and handled quickly, after some problems with Paypal. This is useful, as after choosing both the frames and the lenses, I was told my choices don't fit together and had to choose yet another frame (again, my first choice colours were not available despite still being listed on the site). Finally, the finished product... Does, what it says on the tin! One arm wobbles slightly (though I've been assured this is normal, despite never having seen this before. Perhaps it's a foible of the 1.76 DA Tokai lenses?), and the Super Duper Hydrophobic coating doesn't seem all that hydrophobic at all, but the transitions stuff works! All in all, great value for money (for the 1.76 DA, Tokai lenses) and absolutely lovely people, average product, frustrating website. In two minds as to whether or not I would return.”

“It is so refreshing to be served by professional opticians who are enthusiastic about what they are doing. The people at GFL genuinely want to use their expertise to give you not only a good buying experience but an ongoing delight with exceptional products, tailored to meet your need. I liked everything about the experience. It was not the usual conveyor belt experience, because of that I have glasses I actually look forward to wearing. “I visited the offices and found friendly, informative staff who put me at my ease. I ordered a pair of glasses with a special coating to keep UV rays from penetrating the lens and still paid half the price quoted by my local Optician! I'd recommend this company without any hesitation. I had them delivered direct to my home and they arrived the following day. Thank you - I'll be back.”

“The best frame I've had, JKL Oval, broke. Liz and her team searched for and located what was probably the last pair in the world. The frames arrived this week, and my lenses slipped in perfectly. Thank you for taking customer service so seriously. You have won a fan!”

“Just ordered and received my first pair of glasses. I live locally so visited the offices the whole experience was excellent. The staff are so helpful, patient and friendly nothing to much trouble. “Syed.(Colchester) Just like a circle,true to its centre,a promise made and a promise kept. "Your vision,our care",how apt this turned out to be. A genuine team,so open and honest,mirroring the open plan premises, no barriers. Steve provided unbiased,objective and verifiable information about every aspect of visual need.Even a "look behind the scene" was afforded. A benevolent and philanthropic group,nothing scripted,so natural. A 300Mile round trip was worth every penny. This is the BENCHMARK,others need to consider,a vision for the future, the Jewel in the Crown. My experience and YOURS to COME.”

“Ordered a reglaze of rimless frames with Tokai 1.74 plastic lenses. Ordering process was very straightforward. A last-minute change of delivery instructions was accommodated with no problem (thanks Liz!). The glasses themselves are perfect and I am really pleased with the appearance and quality of the lenses (my prescription is approx -5.5). This was my second order from GFL. Very happy and I will be using them again.”

“Excellent, personal, swift service. Reglazing of my glasses very efficient and effective - especially as new lens were put in some very old frames, which I valued - and none of the high street firms would do this. Great coffee and biscuits while we waited for the lens to be put in too!!”

“Thank you I ordered my glasses on 26/03/16. I am pleased to say they arrived today 01/04/16, so very prompt and they fit well and look good. Although will take some getting used to as the prescription has changed, and makes me feel slightly dizzy when I look up. My only comment may be , an email in response to my order and one to say it was on its way may have been helpful. But otherwise I am very pleased and would order again.”

“I have recently purchased 2 sets of glasses from GFL and I would agree with all other reviews here. The purchasing processing was easy - straightforward upload of my prescription - didn't have to work out what to type in! Email communication is great and invoices show full details of your purchase so you know you've definitely ordered the right options. GFL are outstanding: both with regards to the quality of their products and their customer service. I have already recommended them to everyone I know!! “Very impressed with the high standard of service provided. Have just bought my third pair of glasses from you and this time had them fitted with the brand new Tokai lenses. I am really impressed with the difference it has made. I have Macular Degeneration, Wet AMD, which means that one big problem is bright lights, sunshine. I could feel the difference from the very start, daylight is not as stark the lenses provide a 'mellow' light is the best way I can explain it. Much more gentle on your eyes. Thank you.”

“I found some glasses I liked locally but didn't like the price! I called Glasses, frames and lenses and was very pleased to find the same glasses at less than half the price.
