I have been trying for weeks to get a copy of my 1099R for a life insurance policy I surrendered last June 2023. I've talked to multiple people and elevated it to a case manager, just to get a copy of my tax form (which is not available anywhere online (belive me I've tried). I can't finish my taxes without this form! My CPA says they should have sent this form. Prudential is telling me they don't generate a 1099R if no tax is due...Ok, well, I don't think the IRS is going to take my word for it! I need the form! I have placed a complaint with the BBB, I encourage everyone here to do the same. Overseas customer service doesn't seem to have access to any of the company's information after they were sold to Empower. It's a sh*tshow. There needs to be a lawsuit.

Remember the good old 'Man from The Pru'? Well, your memory must be good, because that is evidently a looooooong time ago. The customer service is appalling, no, worse than that, it is woeful. I try to get my yearly statements and my AVC update. Every single time without fail it is a case of needing to renew passwords, PIN number etc etc. Call customer service? One and a half hours of muzak and a loop saying they are extremely busy - doing what exactly?? It is clear they do not wish to engage with their customers and just want to take your money. Dreadful, truly dreadful experience and I am still no nearer to getting the information THEY keep telling me I need to read - but they won't let me! Soon as I can transfer out I am going to. Resting on laurels of past times as an honourable institution. Forget them, they don't give a toss about you.

I have attempting to get money out of a PruFund Investment plan since the beginning of the month. I started the discussions about how to do this on the 1st March and on the 4th March received an email with a PDF form and details of how to provide the required information on an upload form. I asked for a 1 off withdrawal but the form was for regular withdrawal. It took a further 3 days to receive the correct form and then I tried to upload the required documents via their upload. It failed and it still wasn't working at the end of the week. I tried it again on the Monday 11th March and it still wasn't working so I sent the documents from abroad (£100 cost) to get to them next day. It turns out that a letter from the bank wasn't enough for them so they requested a bank statement. Their upload form still wasn't working so after negotiations they agree to accept an email. On Friday 15th March they agreed to a 48 hour turnaround and I agreed to pay £20 for an electronic transfer. Their 48 hours didn't start until Tuesday, but I was promised that the electronic transfer would be done on Thursday the 21st March. It is now the 22nd March and on this mornings call it seems that the transfer has not taken place and they will get back to me by the end of the working day to tell me what has happened, so I am presuming that the next chance of a transfer taking place will now be next week. To be quite honest I don't believe a word of what I am told on these lines. My belief is that they simply don't want to release any money and will delay for as long as possible to continue making money on these funds and push up their results and share price either that or it is just complete dereliction of duty towards their customers.

Terrible terrible terrible company to deal with. They are holding the surrender of a life insurance policy hostage! Requested three times, and each time they asked for something different to be sent to them. Will be starting legal action against them very soon.

While their investment returns are pretty average, their customer service is far below. I closed out an account to make money available for another investor, the customer service couldn't send the money direct deposit to the bank. It has to be by check because they couldn't verify the bank via phone call. Hmm. Others can. It is now over a week, still no check and I don't know if they have mailed it or USPS has lost it.

Prudential partners with Sedgewick for customer needs for my company. Sedgewick/Absence one is terrible. They are a very disorganized company. Deny on thing and then turn around and approve the same thing after they make you re-enter it. Send a letter to say they will cancel you claim after they were "unable to get ahold of you," even though you just talked to them and have nothing pending on your case. Ask for new FMLA paperwork to continue your case, say they receive it but don't actually continue it. Threaten to cancel it then say, "oh, I'll put in something to have it continued." Like wtf? I don't fill out a bunch of stuff for you because I don't still need it. You need to get this figured out.

I PAID MY CONTRIBUTIONS TO PRUDENTIAL FOR 37 YEARS IN RETURN FOR A GUARANTEED PENSION. ON 1ST JULY,2023 I WAS DUE MY PENSION, NOW OVER 8 MONTHS LATER I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY PENSION, NO PAYMENT DATE IS AVAILABLE FROM PRUDENTIAL, DOSENS OF COMPLAINTS AND OVER 200 HOURS ON THE TELEPHONE AND STILL NO PENSION, IT IS MY 65th BIRTHDAY ON 6th MARCH, 2024 AND WAS HOPING FOR A GOOD RETIREMENT BUT NO CHANCE WITH A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT IT CUSTOMERS, A TOTAL DISGRACE FOR A COMPANY, PRUDENTIAL SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND STOPPED FROM TAKING MONEY UNDER FRAUDULENT PROMISSES. I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY

It is obvious that all the new customer service personal only know what they read. If you try to explain something to them they just answer with the same thing they said before. I have been with Prudential all my life, what a mistake. When I receive a letter from them the company I feel sick and worry all night about having to deal with them again. My son always know when I am calling them because of how I sound and most of the time I end up in tears. I feel like they will never get my problem fixed..It seams to me that it is more important to out source the customer service and save money. I will stop rambling on and on but I could.

Avoid Prudential Financial like the bubonic plague. In particular, their Lancaster, PA field office and a clown named Evan Perets. Had "7 figures" invested with them for years and was the worst experience of my life. Bunch of cut-throat buffoons who even bulk at closing your account and returning all your money when requested to do so. Avoid at ALL COSTS!

My parents took out my policy when I was 8 years old. I am now 42. My father died 25 years ago and my mother recently passed. I have been trying to update the bank account that autopsy is taken out of. The amount of information needed to do this is ridiculous. I need the exact date the policy was taken out and the exact amount the policy was started with. Sorry, I was 8 years old and can't remember, haha. I will NEVER use this company for my own family. The only reason I am keeping this policy is due to the amount I would lose to cash it out. I'm trying to give them money and they make it almost impossible. If you decide to start a policy, my suggestion is keep every single paper they ever send you!

This company has the worst online and phone in customer service I have ever encountered. I was recently given power of attorney for my older parents and trying to change beneficiaries on policies. Their agent that they had for years moved on and they haven't had an agent for over 10 years. So when they asked me to make changes to the policies I decided to try it online first then phone into customer service after the website was too confusing to use. I wasted 2 days of my life dealing with the phone in customer service. I found a local Prudential agent who was willing to take on the work that I needed to get done. He is fantastic. If I did not find him I would never recommend this company to anybody. It sounds like the local agents have the same heartaches that phone in and online customers have as well. He has not told me this specifically but I can see there have been a lot of follow-up calls to me to get things straight. This is so unfortunate. My parents have had policies and annuities with this company for 50 years. Unless things change I would never recommend this company to anybody.
