“I have put poor because there is a difference between Ferry marina and our experience, everyone we dealt with at Ferry Marina was very good, very helpful and polite, no complaints at all, unfortunately our experience on the water was different, we noticed how nice the boats were, they looked perfect, we booked ours online and didn't travel down to view it first, big mistake, we were looking forward to the weekend as I am in my 50's and it was something I wanted to do for a long while. all I can say is sadly never again the boat we were on was old, tired and not everything worked... maybe we should have said something before we left but we didn't feel like moaning as soon as we got there, I am sure there were other / better boats available as this was end of season October, it got to us so much that when we woke up on the Sunday all four of us looked at each other and said 'lets go home', so we went home a day early, it was not the weather, it was not the people, nor was it anything else but the dated and very sad boat, which turned out to be an expensive two day disappointment, I would like to try again one day but definitely a better boat.”
“We had Azure Emblem for two weeks, it was a nice boat, half way through the first week a part on the engine failed, meaning it would not start we contacted the boat yard and the engineer came out to us.
The part that was needed had to be ordered and we was told the latest it would be was Monday, resulting in us having to turn the engine off manually by getting into the engine at the back of the boat. The engineer did offer to put a temp pull cord at the back but as we had someone disabled and someone of old age it was not suitable. Through out the rest of our holiday we contacted the boat yard a few times but was told the part still wasn't in and when we was passing by we stopped off to see if it was in and the staff never seemed as if they never knew of our situation.
The part never came in, so the most part of our holiday we were having to get into the engine to turn it off which we feel is unacceptable.
In all the boat was lovely but was disappointed with How they left us without the part.”
“Just to add to my previous review on Golden Emblem that there are a number of faults on the boat (toilet gauge never worked throughout our stay, one of the gas rings wouldn’t stay lit , water tank gauge didn’t work etc). It is all rather tired. I do therefore have to agree with one of the previous reviews that £1300 for 4 nights (effectively just 3 days boating) felt like very poor value for money.”
