I purchased a Y6640 S about a year ago, from my first cook I have had nothing but problems. After about the 3rd cook I noticed some drops of grease on the bottom shelf, I looked at the under-body of the grill and noticed grease buildup from the two bolts nearest the grease bucket. These bolts were installed at the factory NOT when I assembled the grill. I called Yoder customer service and they instructed me to re-caulk the bolts. for the first 4- 5 months I didn't have any other issues, then about month 6 , it would have huge temp swings,35-50f swings that would hold for at ;least 30 minutes before settling down to set temp I again contacted customer service, they assured me this was normal. it also would not go down to 150f even though it clearly states everywhere advertised it would, when i asked customer service i was told the grill would not go down to 150f and to use the top shelf because the lowest the grill would go was 175f. The next issue was the trap door, it warped even though i NEVER ran the grill higher the 400f with it installed. This was replaced without issue until it warped again about a week ago Then the fans, the fans stared going out about a month ago , they made high pitched whining noise. Those were just sent out for me to replace After all of the above , i had enough, I spoke to customer service several times and expressed my frustration and felt I should not be making all these repairs on a grill that wasn't even a year old and OVER $2300 .That went nowhere, I asked that the manager of the plant call me, this if course never happened. After the 3rd or 4th email asking a manager to call me finally I was provided the VP's info, I spoke to Joe the VP, nice enough guy, we went through the issues and he assured me he would make things rite including replacing the grill if needed. Joe and Joey ( customer service manager) went through some of my cooks and picked out the ones that did not have huge swings (even though i sent several with huge swing) and decided the grill was fine and I would just need to keep repairing the grill. Bottom line, i really wanted to buy American made and thought I would in return have something my kids would enjoy after I am gone. especially when your spending this kind of money. Yoder may have had a good product at one time and stood behind there products, those days appear to be gone. I strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. After these next round of repairs I plan on selling the grill for whatever I can get for it and purchase a Lone Star Grillz
