The instructions were too brief and could be improved upon. Placing the rubber feet on all uprights is a good example - they need not be placed on those intended for the upper tier.
The identification of the slots by numbers or colours would have made it far easier to assemble. What looked like the correct ones could only be confirmed by counting the slots. Mistakes only became apparent when the almost assembled structure looked wrong or would not accept the shelf squarely.
