The item I ordered was out of stock but 10days later, no-one had informed me so I have now missed the Christmas slot for buying this elsewhere as a present for my parents - very disappointed.
An email would have done, but if I hadn't chased this up, I'm not sure I would ever have been informed.
Communication could be improved.
