My first experience of wedding dress shopping at Wed2b! Infact it was my ever experience, never tried on wedding dress shopping prior to this. I had arranged for my bridesmaids and mum to come with me to the Milton Keynes Wed2b store. They were very welcoming to myself and my bridal party. I went on a saturday in November around midday and did not have to wait longer than 15minutes to have my trial session! The experience was different to my expectations. I had expected myself and my bridesmaids to have a look through a selection of dresses and pick out some to try on, however this was not the case. The lovely lady who served me, had asked me a few questions regarding my wedding venue, styles, colours etc and from this selected a few dresses for me to try on. The dresses selected were definitely the opposite of what I would've tried on. Which was a good and bad thing. For example I knew I did not want a super low/plunging neckline however this were majority of the dresses selected for me. So these were automatically no no's for me regardless how nice the rest of the dress was. From other reviews I have noticed some people tried on 4 dresses, however I tried on definitely around 7 or 8 dresses. Maybe because a good 4 dresses were super low and was a definite no no? But I'm not complaining! I wish I did get a chance to look at their selection myself. Found a dress that once the curtain was pulled back, my friends and mum were wow'd and I knew I absolutely loved the dress! The dress was still a little low for my liking (felt that I wasn't being listened to when I said I didn't want a low dress), however it was not as low as the other dresses I tried on. The actual dress was absolutely beautiful!!!! We was distracted by the gorgeous dress that we looked past the lowish front. The lady asked me what I thought about the selection of dresses. I am a person who usually shops around, so I was not expecting to buy a dress on that day, I was only expecting to find out the style dress that suited me. However I was too scared to let that beautiful dress go, as I thought, I'm only going to look for similar dresses at other shops, for what? for a cheaper price? for potentially a more modest neckline, but would that mean I would miss out on another feature that I really loved. So I bought my dress!!!!! Now fast forward 3 months, it is now February 2024, I am ready to look at the envelope they had given me after I paid. I open the envelope which has a list of seamstresses for alterations and my receipt. I have a look at my receipt and am shocked by what I've seen. The dress I had chose was £799. The underskirt was £99. The veil was £45 and sleeves £35. So approximately just under £1000. However the bill was just short of £1100. The list on the receipt was so long. Now looking through the receipt I am seeing charges for the storage boxes, storage bags and hangers. In all honesty they did mention something about the storage boxes after I agreed to purchase the dress, however no mention of the price, or that they will be added 2 storage boxes, 3 storage bags and 3 hangers, there was no mention of hangers. I do not need hangers as I have already got personalised hangers for my wedding day for myself and my bridesmaids. The extras added up to £109. I did consent to the storage boxes (even though I didn't know the price), but the others is actually ridiculous. They were unnecessary expenditures that I did not know about. I feel a bit cheated into this, and makes me wonder why they put the receipt into a sealed envelope on your exit. I wish I had looked at this sooner, however on their website it says they do not except returns on wedding storage boxes, bags or hangers, so I guess it makes no difference. It's such a shame that now I feel this way. So for anyone due to go wed2b, please be mindful of this.
