My personal experience with this company has been a nightmare, thanks to its carelessness and its callous and blatant disregard towards the customer as well as towards its obligations. In November 2022, I bought a book from WeBuyBooks (through AbeBooks) and on 14 November I was informed that the book had been shipped (from the UK to Italy). I patiently waited, but weeks passed and the book did not arrive, nor did I receive any updates from WeBuyBooks. As Christmas was near and the expected delivery timeframe ranged from 27 November to 27 December, I waited until after Christmas before finally contacting WeBuyBooks on 28 December, asking for updates on the delivery of my book. At which point, I was candidly informed that the book was being returned to the sender, with no explanation given regarding as for reason. I immediately asked why, and I was given a tracking number and informed that the delivery man had not found me at home and a new delivery had not been scheduled within two weeks, therefore, after this period had expired, the forwarder had initiated the return to the sender procedure. I checked the tracking number on the website of the forwarder – it should be noted that even though WeBuyBooks had the tracking number for this shipment, they had never given it to me before, nor bothered to inform me that the shipment could be tracked – and found out that, indeed, a delivery attempt had been made on 24 November, but I had not been at home at that moment. The delivery man left no notice of this failed delivery attempt, thus I had no way of knowing it had even taken place; but the forwarder informed WeBuyBooks that a new delivery attempt was to be rescheduled within two weeks, otherwise the book would be returned to the sender. WeBuyBooks made no attempts whatsoever to schedule a new delivery, nor did they bother to inform me of the failed delivery attempt; for a full two weeks, from 24 November to 7 December, the book sat forgotten in a depot a few kilometres from where I live, while I did not even know that it had reached Italy. Then, it was sent back to the sender. All of this I only learned after my inquiry on 28 December. As I was more interested in getting the book than in a refund, I told them that I’d rather have them send again the book, of course with no additional charge on my part as the blame for what had happened lay entirely on them (and to a lesser extent, on the delivery man for leaving no notice), rather than refund me. The answer was that this was not possible, I would have to wait for the book to be returned to them, then I would get a refund, and only then, if I wanted, I could make a new order for the same book. In the following weeks, I asked for updates on the return of the book about once or twice per week, but I was always told that it had not been returned yet. Now we are in early February; *two months* have passed since the book began its journey back to WeBuyBooks – and they would have me believe that they have not received it yet. The book had taken *ten days* to make the journey from them to my home. Of course, I do not believe them. What I believe is that either they received the book and do not want to issue the refund, or the book was lost on its way back and again they do not want to issue the refund, which they have to do as, I will stress once again, all of this happened entirely due to their own gross negligence. At this point, it appears rather unlikely that I will get my money back. I strongly discourage anyone from buying books from WeBuyBooks, they might be good buyers (most positive reviews seem to come from people who *sold* books to them) but they are terrible sellers, without an ounce of seriousness, respect towards the customer, or honesty.
