I ordered a Blade4 Pet vacuum with 2 batteries to make sure I could hoover the whole flat without waiting for 1 battery to re-charge. It arrived quickly, so was pleased with that. I registered it online to get the 5 year warranty & that was a simple job, although it was registered with the original 1 year warranty from the day I ordered, not the day I received it. I used the machine the next day. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The rollers didn't go round, so nothing was picked up from the carpet. I turned the boost button on & it stuck to the carpet. I could hardly move it over my carpets & I tried 3 different rooms with different types of carpet. Every one was the same, I was unable to push or pull the vax properly, it just jumped over them. It didn't pick up anything as the rollers wouldn't go round, no fluff, bits or hair. It did pick up dust which was like sand, but anything else it just left on the carpets. I pushed & pulled it over the same bit 5 or 6 times & it didn't even make the fluff move, let alone pick it up. Even using the boost never picked up anything. The motor is at the top of the hoover & was really top heavy, so when I pushed it, the handle turned sideways with the weight of it, making the hooverhead turn over. It was really heavy too & as I have rheumatoid arthritis I couldn't control the handle. At one point, it turned the hooverhead over so quickly, I lost my balance & almost tripped over it. I spent over an hour on the online chat with a stupid robot who didn't understand that I wanted to return it for a refund. I eventually did get a human who organised DPD to collect 4 days later. I waited in all day & they never turned up. I again went online & got another useless robot who after 35 minutes transferred me to a human. When I explained that DPD hadn't turned up, no appology, no reason why, she just tried making excuses & after another 20 minutes, cut me off. It was her home time I think. I called the helpline number the next morning & spoke to a really nice man who said he would re organize a collection, but that they couldn't guarantee what time they would arrive, but that they would give me a time on the collection day. As I couldn't guarantee being at home at such short notice due to commitments, he suggested I take it to a pick up point. I told him I was 70 years old, had arthritis & didn't have a car so would have to walk there, which was 1/2 a mile away. That was the only option so he sent me a returns label & asked me to call UPS to arrange a collection day with them. 4 days later, the returns label arrived & I phoned UPS. The person on the other end, didn't have a clue, I couldn't hear half of what she was saying, & had to repeat everything about 4 times. I had to spell everything out letter by letter as she kept getting it wrong. Even my house number with 2 digits she got wrong, she added an A after the number, got both numbers wrong several times & when I gave her my address it took another 10 minutes for her to get it right. It took almost 50 minutes for her to take my details & give me the day they would collect from the pick up point. When I packed it up, I had to strap it to a trolley & then try to take it down my stairs as I live in an upstairs flat. That took me over 1/2 an hour. I then had to pull or push the trolley the 1/2 a mile to the pick up point. How I never had a heart attack I don't know. My arthritic hands were bruised & swollen on the palms & over the top of them where I had changed hands & turned my hands to hold the trolley handle which banged against the hoover box as it was so large & weighed 12 kgs. It took me almost an hour to get from my home to the shop as I had to keep stopping & swapping hands over. The whole thing from beginning to end was something you only think happens to someone else. It was bitterly cold & when I got to the pick up point, the shop wasn't open, even though I'd phoned through the day before to let them know I would be there at 10am when they opened as I had an appointment to go to after. I waited almost half an hour in the freezing weather before they finally turned up at the shop. I know this isn't all Vax's fault, but they need to make sure the delivery companies they use are competent & turn up on the arranged day, so you don't have to do what I did. I was absolutely furious, that through no fault of mine, I had to hump a 12kg vacuum cleaner 1/2 a mile nearly killing myself in the process, because DPD couldn't be bothered to turn up & that the vacuum was useless in the first place. NEVER,NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE VAX FOR ANYTHING, THERE VACUUM WAS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY. I've had confirmation they have received it but am now waiting for a refund, which I hope doesn't take too long to process as I've had to buy another vacuum cleaner from a different company & both amounts are due on my credit card.
