After purchasing the policy via a price comparison site I paid the deposit and set the policy up, I asked for a bit more information that I also provided via the web site.
The following day the insurance company called me to validate the policy and basically went back through a full proposal, when you run a business your time is precious, I was on the phone for a long time.
Then I was told as my van has racking inside the premium had changed by around £300!
I would assume having racking to secure your items in transit would be a good thing! In turn would lower the premium.
I obviously refused this as I has another quote elsewhere cheaper.
The staff member put me on hold and then returned to advise me it was only £10 ish more expensive after speaking to her manager.
I was a little annoyed as in my eyes you had nailed me down and taken my original deposit to then try and screw me over the following day!
You should offer your best price and honor it, you would probably have alot of very happy repeat customers if you did.
