I insured one of my vehicles through van compare. All seemed fine at first. They took nearly £140 deposit and I didn’t hear off them for a couple of days. Then out of the blue 2 threatening emails and a text message saying they were cancelling my insurance unless I phoned to verify. And 30 minutes on hold and a 30 minute call they’d upped the price of my insurance by around £20, they taken the deposit and spread it amongst my monthly payments which was not originally agreed upon and finally the woman said everything was verified. A few days later, another call. This time asking for a picture of my driving license. I told him I’d sent it and I wasn’t happy they were still contacting me after being told everything had been verified. He apologised and said he could see that was the case and that would be the end of it. Then a few days later their contacting me again!! Same issues!! More threatening emails and texts. Then a call. I then request to make a complaint and cancel the policy. They put me on hold. Then cut off the call. I call back. They do the same thing again. I go on the chat, and the operator is blatantly ignoring my questions. I request to make a complaint via the chat. And still I’m ignored. This company has taken my deposit and used it incorrectly which I feel is unlawful deduction from my bank account. They have harassed me constantly. And breached their own complaints policies and terms and conditions.
