Best of a bad lot I suppose. However always helpful and always good service from the contact centre staff and members of the management. Claims dealt with quickly on my last claim 3 years ago. However underwriter has changed so cannot comment now. Had cover for years and will do going forward but it doesn't meet my needs.
My only complaint is they are just like every other UK insurer. As soon as there's a travel advisory from the UK Gov you are not covered for that. Yeah I know if your already in the zone it's fine but this is a traveller policy. We move. The COVID cover is invalid. It's currently possibly the biggest global risk. The UK Gov stick travel advisories on for no legitimate reason on countries like Zambia just because of currently 11 cases of Omicron. Yet the UK has many many more cases. So we loose our cover. You also must be vaccinated. Standard terms for UK.
So if T is reading this why don't you sort it out. You yourself told me that you've had only a handful of claims for COVID and that only the USA one made your balance sheet. So why don't you get your underwriter to address this as some of the European and USA insurers ones. We want COVID cover irrespective of advisories. If they said don't travel to Juba in South Sudan because if the war....you'd still cover COVID. It's lunacy. Yet if I get shot I'm not covered which is understandable. How many COVID claims have you had...yet it's excluded again for half of Africa. I lost 6 months of my policy this year and my renewal is already invalid on the day I purchased it !!!
