This unit is well designed and is constructed from pine and a fair amount of MDF. It is unusual to find such a large chest which is why I bought it as I wanted to streamline my bedroom. However I was torn as I usually buy real, solid wood preferably with dovetail joints. It seems a solid chest of drawers but there are compromises due to the construction materials, namely the drawer function which slides via a plastic wheel in a recess resulting in a slightly clunky action. It is also necessary to “position” the drawer when closing to ensure there is not an uneven gap between the drawer and framework which not aesthetically pleasing when it occurs. Would also like to see the quality of finish on the top the chest reflected in the sides and a little more paint on the “hidden” areas even if this increased the cost. That said it is an attractive unit that makes a statement and offers good storage.
