Buying pens - used and new - used to be a major interest, but with less need to write by hand and equally importantly, the closure of physical pen stores, the fun has gone out of it and I've stopped investing in pens or giving them much time. I use The Pen Company as the best available outlet for pens, when I need one and I couldn't find the Fischer Bullet Pen anywhere else, so I'm grateful for that. I'm a book buyer too, and if I have to buy online I go to Abe Books, who show second-hand books next to the new ones and are the best mainstream collector site. I'd use a pen site that did the same as Abe Books, offering a wide range of classic and second-hand pens next to the new lines, as while I couldn't evaluate the pens close up, I could browse an extensive range of old and new - which would rekindle my passion for pens and encourage me to spend a lot more money on them.
