I was looking for classic bike insurance for a 1963 lambretta, I did a search on Google for classic bike insurance, and the Bike Insurer came up. So I put mine and the bikes details in and it came back with a competitive quote via devitt insurance. I paid for the policy and thought all was fine. Devitt’s then contacted me on a separate matter regarding the policy, where it transpired that I wasn’t covered on a classic insurance policy, just a normal policy, which only gave me scrap value of a £5k bike if it was stolen or damaged beyond repair. I trusted the on line tool, to take into account that my bike was a 1963 classic and not a bit of an old dog. Obviously the site isn’t clever enough to pick up on the nuances entered. As I’d searched for classic bike insurance I took it for granted it would. Devitt’s cancelled the policy, and were very understanding about my issue. They only charged me for the days I had been covered and didn’t charge me a cancellation fee.
