The aerial guys came out to try and repair an aerial for us however it was not repairable and therefore we were given a quote of ‘£140 all in’ for a new one fitting. We accepted and the guy did the work and the aerial worked. He then smashed three of my outdoor festoon lights I believe from when removing the wire from the old aerial. Fair enough, mistakes happen however I was at work and my partner was working from home at the time so I asked to arrange payment at a later date so we could agree on the price they would cover for the cost of the lights. The company refused and said they would only cover £30 for the lights anyway maximum and demanded that my partner paid for the cost of the work there and then. The guy then decided after he’d said ‘£140 all in’ he actually was going to charge us £168 because VAT was on top. My partner tried to disagree due to the earlier conversation and our interpretation of ‘all in’ being in fact the full cost for the work to be done, however he was met with resistance and he doesn’t like confrontation so paid the total of £168. I contacted the office and spoke to an extremely rude lady who did not take anything I said into account. She had looked on Amazon allegedly and some of the lights that we had were £15 so they were being generous offering £30. I can assure you that they were more than £30 but I cannot provide proof of purchase as I did not keep the receipt. But this in fact doesn’t include the inconvenience of having to go and buy more alongside fitting the lights when they were working perfectly before. She also said that all of their prices quoted to not include VAT and insisted my partner was told this by the guy fitting the aerial. He was in fact not and I repeated that when someone says ‘all in’ that does in fact mean the total price. She insisted that I sent my details via bank transfer or WhatsApp to which I declined as this to me is not very safe to a company which is already proving untrustworthy. She then asked in a sarcastic way whether I wanted the money sending in an envelope instead. I did just point out this could have been avoided should we have been invoiced and payment sorted out at a later date. My partner called and did receive the £30 back for the lights but I cannot and will not recommend this company to anyone else. Particularly the lady I spoke to on the phone was unprofessional and on the whole I feel we received poor customer service.
