Wow! From the very first contact, to the survey & quote (thank you Don) to the actual move, we couldn't be more impressed. The whole team were fantastic. The process for booking and paying was seamless (thank you Katie) and what could have been a very stressful time for us was made so easy by the team at Simon Long. I collected boxes to pack ourselves, the warehouse was neat & tidy, and the chap working there couldn't be more helpful lifting them into my car. On the moving day itself, a team of 6 smart uniformed lads arrived on time and introduced themselves with a handshake and a smile before explaining what to expect and answering any questions. The speed at which these guys work is astonishing, super efficient and handled everything with care including protecting our carpets and packing the lorries carefully. Good humour all round too, had a few laughs through the day. Thanks Tom, Rob, and all the team for working so hard for us. Unloading at the other end was a breeze and took just over two hours which is amazing. They were thoughtful and courteous about parking and nothing was too much trouble. I can't thank you all enough. The quote was the most competitive by far and I worried that this may be reflected in the service, but I needn't have stressed. I can't imagine paying more for a service better than this. 5 stars all round. Thank you so much. Tips for movers... It's been 12 years since we last moved so we weren't sure what to expect but here's some notes for anyone booking and a reminder for me for next time. 1. If you're packing yourself, then label EVERYTHING really clearly. The lorries weren't loaded by room (to balance everything safely) so you'll need good labels. I found a free downloadable set online. 2. Lable ALL the furniture too, it will save the lads asking you where stuff needs to go at the other end. 3. Label your new rooms on arrival. i.e. Bed 1, Bed 2, etc. It'll make life easier bringing boxes in. 4. Leave a kettle and few mugs out for teas/coffees, the chaps will definitely earn a brew. Not that they stopped work much, these guys worked solidly. Finally, thank you again everyone.
