Initial visit to store was pretty disappointing. I visited the Cheltenham store to have a look at what was on offer & in the hope of talking to someone who would be able to give an indication of what the design I wanted would cost. Store was tiny & the sales assistant(?) didn't really appear to know much about what she was selling (not sure that selling is the right word as she couldn't even give me an indication of price). Had a quick look around & she booked in a designer to visit. Overall feeling underwhelmed at this point as I'd made a special trip out just for this. A few days later, met Jasmine (my designer) at the house. She had a measure up & we worked through a design together, she was more than happy to go back over & change things & look at different options. More than happy with the service Jasmine provided, just not keen on how the business model works. Jasmine is only able to carry small material samples around in the car which makes it hard to try & fully visualise what's going to be installed - this is where being able to get a basic design done in store would be more beneficial in my opinion. Only after spending over an hour going through this process was I finally able to be given an a price, which was only valid if I agreed to go ahead there & then. Otherwise I'd lose one of the discounts that had been applied which i believed equated to around £700, so not a small difference. Again I understand the business model & why they would do it that way but when you're about to spend thousands of pounds, it would be nice to have a bit of time to consider your options. They could easily give a 7 day time frame & (as long as no changes are needed) allow for the contract to be agreed & paid for by phone/email/online. Anyway, agreed to go ahead with ordering & Jasmine sorted the paperwork & took initial 25% Deposit. Later that day I received a phone call to book in the surveyor. About 3 days later, I met the surveyor on site. I can't remember his name but a pretty uneventful visit. He just had to do a check that what had been designed would actually work & fit in the space available. No problems here, I just left him to it & then had to sign a couple of bits. He was on his way with installation booked around 8 weeks later (w/c 13/6) with a note on the system that I'd like sooner if possible. Around 6 weeks later, email received to confirm delivery & installation date as well as take the second payment (65% of total). Delivery confirmed for the Friday before installation (10/6), this all happened without a problem. Text received the day before with a 3 hour delivery window with two vans turning up the following morning to deliver. Installation was booked to start the following Wednesday (15/6). Received a call after delivery asking if the installer could start on Tuesday instead (no problem). Received another call & email later the same day asking if he could start Monday afternoon (confirmed on the Monday no problem) Dawid (installer) arrived at around 1.30 on Monday, returned Tuesday just after 8am until about 4-4.30. Returned on the Wednesday around 8am & finished up & gone by around 2pm. Dawid gave a quick run through of the wardrobes when done & final payment of 10% had to be made online. No problems with Dawid at all, he was happy to get on with his job so left him to it. After completion, all waste was left in a pile in my front garden & was told that a waste collection had been included free of charge as I'd spent over £5k. Collection has been booked & hoping it will be gone today but be prepared to have a pile of waste for a couple of days after completion The product - I'm happy with it, there are a couple of bits that aren't perfect but nothing that will bother me too much. There's a join in the framework around the doors top & bottom due to the length of the wardrobe but I was made aware of this at design stage. Also, the sliding doors are handless which I like but due to the soft close it can be awkward to open the doors that are set back. Installation was only finished two days ago & haven't started using them yet so can't comment on usability/long term performance. Overall happy with the final product. Would be happy to use the majority of the team of people I dealt with again. Value for money - I spent a lot more than I was expecting to spend but didn't really know what to expect. I feel I could have found an alternative for quite a bit cheaper. Would I buy from Sharps again - yes if the price is right (assuming my experience using the wardrobes is good). However, now I know how their business model works, I would definitely shop around elsewhere first though & try to get more of an idea of layout/design sorted before the designers visit
