On 2/5/22 we purchased a decking kit from you. In addition we paid £145.50 delivery. On 9/5/22 I contacted you for an update as seven days had passed. I was informed that the seven days delivery did not include weekends. On 10/5/22 I received an e-mail from you stating that my order had been shipped. It went on to say that the courier would contact us with a delivery date. On returning home at 1000hrs on 11/5/22 we were surprised to see our decking just inside our drive and not may I add in a very secure place, and a box outside the front door. There was no delivery note or any other documentation. We were concerned that your previous notification stated that we would need to examine the delivery and sign the drivers documentation as damaged. We could not see any damage but as there was no delivery note we could not determine what we should have received. My husband contacted you sales team number and explained the situation. I spoke to a person called Scott who sent me an e-mail stating what my delivery should have contained. A return e-mail told him that there were 13 x 3m base timbers missing. He stated he would look into it and get back to me. This never happened. So later that day I yet again called your number and spoke to a lady called Carla, who informed me that the delivery had only been a part delivery and that the remainder should be with me the next day on 12/5/22. This did not happen. At 0900 hrs 13/5/22 I again called and spoke to a lady called Janine who after explaining what had happened, she stated that she would contact the courie, who I now know to be Tufnalls, after I told her that we had had no contact from them and therefore no tracking number. She stated that she would contact them and get back to me. This didn’t happen either. In the afternoon of 13/5/22 I yet again called and again spoke to Janine who stated that she had been unable to make any contact with Tufnalls and that she had passed the matter, as she put it up stairs. She also stated that the matter probably would not get looked at until Monday 16/05/22 some 14 days after my order was placed. While I understand that the issue seems to be with your courier, my contract is with you not them and their failings are a reflection on your company. I have now had to lay off the builders hired to install the deck for how long ? you tell me. Needless to say we are not impressed with your company and after sales. As a restauranter I would like to invite you to come and see how a proper business is run. I would suggest you try our mixed grill. We will serve half of it too you at the time, at a cost of £145.50 service charge. The other half of your mixed grill will be served to you some time in the future as you obviously find that acceptable. Please try and sort this matter out by giving me the rest of my order, plus may I suggest you consider a proper courier service. Regards 08/06/2022 Call from a very nice lady, stating that she had just read my review and wished to apologise for the troubles I have experienced. She was very genuine and as I explained although I did not blame Savoy Timber but the courier service, my contract was with them. She again apologised and we left it at that with savoy making a gesture of refunding £50 for the inconvenience caused . Would I use them again, yes I would, the product was fine and is now installed and being used regularly.
