It was easy to identify the course needed with the help of Laura Martin, who was so patient with our lack of technical expertise. Laura then did everything possible to make the process of accessing the course easy to understand and the invoice was clearly set out. Barry Holland was also helpful along the way, in sending me the certificate for the first part of the training. Our Safeguarding Lead has yet to access the final part of the course (on Zoom on 21st September) but I feel confident that I can contact Laura if any difficulties are encountered. It makes such a difference to have a named person who responds quickly to a particular need. The only slight problem in the whole process was the arrival of automatic emails, which did not always seem to tally with what I had arranged with Laura. As it was so easy to double-check with Laura, it was not a problem. A fellow trustee and I had also benefitted from a consultation with Rosie Carter, who suggested that there would be an appropriate course at SAFE. She also gave me some help with DBS checking. We are delighted to be members of SAFE and to get our problems sorted out so efficiently and kindly. In relation to the communication question, I have used telephone, live chat and email in communicating with SAFE.
