We have had a HORRENDOUS experience with poundstretcher and we still don't know if our dog will be fine. I bought three bags of dog snacks late last week because they had a warehouse sale. Our dog has had her usual dry food and then some of these snacks. As a result, she has become violently ill, she's had to go to the vet Monday late night because she was so ill we couldn't wait any longer. The doctor suspected food poisoning. I've called the shop in Bramley, Leeds where I bought them, but the keyholder there was absolutely horrible and started to question how I knew it was their food, and she questioned out of date of one of their own products( that should give you confidence!). I told her my dog hadn't gone anywhere and only had had her usual lily's kitchen dry food and these treats, so I knew it had to be the treats. I told her that I was going to call the headoffice to complain about this experience and her reaction, and when I tried to call the head office, I couldn't even speak to customer services, and you can now only e mail. I called again and choose a different menu and managed to speak to someone. This helpful person send an e mail for them to call me, but I've not hear anything. I've kept the receipt and stinking chicken feet, buffalo ears and one more that reeked absolutely horrendous , but I don't even think they will given my money back ( let alone the £100 vet bill!), because the phone call to the local shop was not dealt with appropriately, so I have no illusions there. We are now 2 days further and she's still so ill. We've had to wash her because she had walked through her own diarrhoea and had been throwing up the whole Monday which had also been on parts of her own body that we couldn't clean yet because she was so ill). This has caused her distress on top of her feeling miserable and we couldn't get her warm until she was dry. Thankfully she's not vomiting anymore because the vet has given her an injection against vomiting, but she still has a lot of diarrhoea. I feel disgusted about the way I was treated when I told her my dog was violently ill. I will only set foot in a poundstretcher one more time to try and get my money back for these treats, and then they will never see me there ever again. This has cost our dog to be very ill ( we don't know how long this will go on for as she's still ill two days later, and it has cost us also almost £100). I just want to share this experience with others about an attitude of a poundstretcher representative member from their staff team who showed no empathy or willingness to believe a client, and try to find a solution. At the end of the day, what do I gain by accusing them if I wasn't convinced it was their treats that have made my pet so ill?!
