A engineer turned up at my property without calling ahead to give prior knowledge of ETA. When drilling through my external wall the engineer caused the external face of the brick to splay (Break and fracture) I asked if the engineer could please cover the damaged brick caused by his workmanship with a cover plate to which he said NO and the only option was to either apply some silicone to cover the hole or some cement. I advised that this was not acceptable as this would appear untidy as a finish and above all else to my reckoning a sub-standard installation. I then tried making contact with Podpoint and eventually after 25 mins waiting to get through to a representitive I was then diverted to another department and eventually a employee by the name of Raymond took my call i explained all of the above and was told that the engineer would NOT be covering the hole with a coverplate as is necessary and that another podpoint engineer would have to come out and have a look. I stated that the engineer at this point had only been on this job for approx 90 mins and would still have plenty of time left to source and supply and fit a coverplate but then at this point was advised that the engineer was refusing to do this. At this point the engineer was speaking to Raymond and then finished the call without me speaking to Raymond to see what was going to happen. I then tried to call podpoint again but after waiting for 20mins and not getting anybody to take my call I gave up. As it stands I have a shelf that i am now unable to fit back into its location due to where the fitter has fitted the breaker and externally a damaged brick and a hole in the wall causing a cold spot coming into my property. I will NOT be recommending Podpoint to anybody going forward and shall be taking up this matter with my employer Mitie Ltd.
