I had sent my favourite glasses for reglazing, following the instructions to the letter. After waiting for many days for any sort of acknowledgement or progress update, I started contacting the company. I received the same bland response every time, usually after a major delay. I had to do all the chasing; at no point was anything ever volunteered to me. Halfway through the dialogue I had to send a copy of the postal receipt to prove that I had in fact sent my glasses to the lab. Luckily I had a photograph of the receiving staff members signature, otherwise I believe I would have lost my glasses and my money. It was only when I started suggesting a refund after several weeks that anything began to happen. In fairness, the eventual reglazing had been undertaken well and the glasses were (unusually I understand) sent back by next day delivery. Please support your local optician - the savings here are just not worth the hassle and stress.
