Patricia. I purchased the first one of these a few weeks ago for my left hand and it has certainly helped with my carpel tunnel so when my right hand started to give me pain as well not sure if it is carpel tunnel or some thing else so I ordered another one of the same size L but this one is a lot thicker than the other one I had so have struggled to wrap it round without being too tight so it obviously comes up smaller than the first one. I would have been better ordering the extra large hope this helps
