Bought house at the wrong time and then watched as the prices dropped. Was left paying interest only on a mortgage for a house worth substantially less than the mortgage itself. After burying my head in the sand I spoke to Negative Equity NI about my options and although I really didn't want to sell it was the only viable option to release me from the debt I was in. They took care of all the negotiations and kept me informed along the way which meant I didn't have to worry about dealing with the bank. I have just had a resolution of my case and am now free to start afresh. Whilst not being a nice situation to be in Negative Equity did make the whole process simple and worry free.
